Pak 'N Save

Two four million dollar fast track Pak 'N Save supermarket projects were constructed on the Moorhouse Ave and Northlands sites in Christchurch and completed on schedule by AWC. The clients brief was to provide an open market floor with no internal supports. The main structure comprises of structural steel frames and precast concrete panels. The large building extensively uses insulated panels in the walls and roof. Internally there is a separate HiBond mezzanine floor structure supported on steel beams and concrete panels. The building is founded on reinforced concrete pads and strip footings on Engineered fill. The ground floor has the retail space, deli kitchen, bakery, goods reception, storeroom, fruit and vegetable preparation.
